Columbus Reassigns Prusek to Syracuse

Syracuse, NY (December 15, 2005) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Columbus Blue Jackets have reassigned goaltender Martin Prusek. The team also announced that they have released right wing Garett Bembridge from his professional tryout contract.

Prusek, 30, has appeared in nine games with Columbus this season, posting a 3-3-0 record, a 3.21 goals against average and a .879 save percentage. In three games with Syracuse earlier this season, Prusek posted a 3-3-0 record, a 3.67 goals against average and a .890 save percentage. A native of Ostrava, Czech Republic, Prusek was signed as a free agent by Columbus August 4, 2005.

Bembridge, 24, appeared in two games while with Syracuse. In 21 games with Idaho (ECHL) this season, Bembridge has tallied an ECHL-high, 30 points (15g, 15a) and 18 penalty minutes. A native of Melfort, Saskatchewan, Bembridge has appeared in 196 career AHL games with Hartford, Saint John, Lowell and Syracuse, registering 24 goals, 31 assists and 99 penalty minutes.

The Crunch travel to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Friday, December 15 at 7:00 p.m. Crunch action can be heard with play-by-play announcer on SportsRadio 620 WHEN or through B2 Networks on the Crunch's website at www.syracusecrunch.com. On Saturday, December 17, Syracuse hosts Philadelphia for a 7:30 p.m. game.
