CLEVELAND - San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has recalled defenseman Josh Gorges from the Cleveland Barons.

Gorges played one game with the Sharks at the beginning of the season before being assigned to the Barons on October 11th. Since then, he has earned two goals and three assists for five points in 18 games in Cleveland.

Last year's Rookie of the Year for the Barons, the six-foot-one, 190-pound defenseman had four goals and eight assists in 74 games in Cleveland last season. All 12 of his points occurred in his last 34 games.

Signed as an undrafted free agent by San Jose in 2004, Gorges previously played for his hometown Kelowna Rockets of the Western Hockey League and led the team to a Memorial Cup Championship. At the game the Barons will induct the newest class of legends into the Cleveland Hockey Legends Ring of Honor, before taking on the Rochester Americans in a Saturday afternoon game.
