Kansas City Downs Explorers 9-2

Kansas City, KS-----The Kansas City T-Bones exploded for eight runs in the seventh and eighth inning that broke up a 1-1 game in defeating the Explorers Thursday 9-2. It was the final game of a four-game series which saw Kansas City win three of the four games.

Jiro Perez had a three-run home run in the seventh inning his second round tripper of the series and his fifth of the season that gave the T-Bones a 6-1 lead. Then in the eighth inning Jeff Squire connected on a three-run home run, his first of the season that put the game on ice for the T-Bones.

Wally Backman, Jr. led the Explorers with three hits and drove in the first run for the X's in the sixth inning that tied the game at 1-1.

Josh Rainwater pitched six and two third innings and took the loss for Sioux City while Kansas City starter Aaron Tullo picked up his third win of the season.

The Explorers will now begin a three-game series Friday at Lincoln. Game time will be 7:05pm.
