KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Kansas City's offense came alive late in the game with eight hits, including two three-run home runs, and powered past Sioux City in a 9-2 win Thursday night in front of 5,683 at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.

With the game tied at 1-1 in the bottom of the seventh, Norberto Susini delivered an RBI single that scored Devin Goodwin and gave Kansas City the lead for good. Two batters later, Jairo Perez hit a three-run home run that extended the T-Bones margin. A two-run homer by Perez on Wednesday gave the T-Bones the win.

Kansas City continued its scoring run on Thursday in the eighth with four more runs, three of which came from a home run by Jeff Squier.

"I guess you can say Jairo has a flair for the dramatic," manager Kenny Hook said after the game. "And Squier's been working hard on his swing, so I'm happy for him to see results."

T-Bones starter Aaron Tullo (3-0) held Sioux City hitless through three innings and then scoreless through the sixth. The T-Bones took an early 1-0 lead plating seven batters in the first inning against Explorers starter Josh Rainwater (1-4).

With the win, Kansas City improves to 9-11 and takes three-of-four from Sioux City for its first series win of the season.

The T-Bones start a three-game series against the Quebec City Capitales on Friday night at 7:05. Tickets are available by calling the Providence Medical Center Box Office at CommunityAmerica Ballpark at 913-328-5618 or at tbonesbaseball.com.
