Diablos lose last game of series in 1-0 offensive struggle

As the series went on the Diablos played better and better, but could not pull out there first win of the season against the Wichita Wingnuts, the Diablos lost in an offensive struggle 1-0, and lost their overall series against the Wingnuts 4-0.

Right from the start of the game both teams struggled to get things going offensively, neither team scored a run through the first four innings. Starting pitcher David Casillas was masterful once again going 7.0 innings, only giving up one run, on six hits, with a season high nine strikeouts. The lone run of the game came in the bottom of the fifth inning by the Wingnuts to take a 1-0 lead.

The Diablos offense was stagnant the whole game only combining for seven hits, in the sixth inning the Diablos looked like they were going to make a run of their own, but hit into a crucial double play. In the ninth inning the Diablos went three up, three down to lose the game 1-0.

The Diablos now fall to 5-14 this season, and finish their four game series with the Wichita Wingnuts. The Diablos will be home tomorrow night to start their four game series against the Grand Prairie AirHogs, 7:05 Cohen Stadium.
