Kane County RHP Jose Corchado Activated for Tonight\'s Game Against the Lugnuts

GENEVA, IL â The Kane County Cougars, in conjunction with the Oakland Athletics, announced today that pitcher Jose Corchado has been activated from the disabled list. Corchado was placed on the disabled list on August 15th with a strained right elbow. The right-hander has a record of (5 â 5) with 3 saves and an ERA of 3.22. .
Making room on the roster the Cougars have placed Dustin Majewski on the disabled list with a high left ankle sprain. Prior to going on the disabled list, the mid-season All-Star selection was batting .274 and second on the team with 12 home runs and 62 RBI and also leads the team with 20 stolen bases.

Winning the first half in the Western Division, the Cougars have earned a spot in the Midwest League Playoffs, playing their first game of the post-season on the road Wednesday, September 8. Claiming home field advantage in the first round, a best-of-three series, the Cougar return home to play game 2 on Thursday, September 9 at 6:30 p.m. and if necessary on Friday, September 10 at 6:30 p.m. Playoff tickets are on sale now through the Cougars box office (630/232-8811) or online (www.kccougars.com).
