GAME OF THE WEEK: Swing 8, Chiefs 4; Swing 5, Chiefs 4
In some situations, especially when they're played on the same day, it's okay to name two games of the week. In this case, the games were played last Sunday at John O'Donnell Stadium, when the Swing came from behind twice against fellow wild card contender Peoria to sweep a twin bill from the Chiefs. The Swing rallied with six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning in the first game, and came back from a 3-0 deficit to win the second game. The wins were particularly huge for the Swing as it won the series from Peoria, and tied the Swing for the wild card spot entering the season's final week!
Angel Garcia and Adam Harben were the winning pitchers for the Swing, while Jay Sawatski got the game two save. Kyle Phillips (game one) and Scott Whitrock each homered on the day, and Brock Peterson had a fine day with two game-winning RBIs!
Here's all you need to know about the Game of the Week:

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Brock Peterson
After serving as a force in the middle of the Swing lineup for the entire season, first baseman Brock Peterson this week has won his first Swing player of the week honor of the season. The righthanded power threat batted .269 on the week, but it was his run production that was the key. As already mentioned, Peterson had back-to-back game-winning hits during the Swing's doubleheader sweep of Peoria, and also scored seven runs in the Swing's seven games this week. Peterson, a Midwest League all-star, has been one of the Swing's most consistent and most dominant threats on the season, while playing first base, third base, left field and designated hitter for the Swing.
