Kalamazoo Wings News Release
The party that was 26 years in the making lived up to the hype last Saturday, as the K-Wings hosted the Flint Generals. The game, which was the home opener for the K-Wings, featured pre-game festivities to honor last year's Colonial Cup Championship team. Kalamazoo commenced the game's scoring 19:46 into the opening period, when John Thomas (1) deflected a Jeff Brown pass past the outstretched hand of Flint's Bryan Worosz.
In the second period, Flint took advantage of five power-play chances by connecting on two of those opportunities to gain a 2-1 lead. Scott Dobben dominated for Kalamazoo in the final period, scoring twice. Dobben (3) tied the game with less than six minutes in regulation with a penalty shot after a fouling from behind infraction by the Generals. Sealing the deal for the K-Wings while knocking in the game-winner off a Shawn Snider with 1:29 left in the third, the forward gave the K-Wings the lead seizing a final of 3-2.
Fast Forward
The K-Wings finish the last half of a two-game home stand this Saturday (10/28) against the Muskegon Fury. Both teams enter this week as the only remaining undefeated teams in the UHL. Saturday also coincides with the 3rd Annual Orange Ice Game. The K-Wings, who are 1-1-0 on Orange Ice, suffered their lone defeat to the Fury in the inaugural game. Fans are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes, as the K-Wings will be hosting a costume contest and trick-or-treating on the concourse. Kalamazoo will be wearing special Halloween Jersey's that will be auctioned immediately following Saturday's game.

Getting Out in Front
In all three regular season games, the K-Wings have struck first. Besides being 3-0-0 this season when lighting the lamp before their opponents, Kalamazoo is 202-58-15 all-time in their UHL history when they get the game's first goal.
The Obscure Stat of the Week
