Tebbs Named UHL Goaltender of the Week

Elmira, NY - The Elmira Jackals announced today that goaltender Kris Tebbs was selected by the United Hockey League as the Southern Sports Supply UHL Goaltender of the Week for Week 2.
Kris Tebbs had a massive weekend in goal for the Jackals. After a stellar performance from Shawn Degagne Friday night, Tebbs raised the bar with back-to-back wins on the road in Port Huron. The Calgary, Alberta native made a colossal 45 saves on 47 shots in a 4-2 come-from-behind win on Saturday night and then finished the road trip by stopping 28-of-30 shots in regulation on Sunday and blanking the Flags on all three attempts in the shootout for a 3-2 win. For the week Tebbs had a 2.00 GAA and a 0.948 save percentage, improving his season record to 2-1-0 with a 3.33 GAA and a 0.910 save percentage.
"Congratulations to Kris his well deserved UHL award after two great performances this weekend," said General Manager Robbie S. Nichols. "We knew he was a great goaltender when we traded for him from Muskegon this summer and his play backs that up. We are very pleased to have two number one goaltenders in our lineup, both playing at the top of their game."
"Kris had a huge weekend in goal for us," said Jackals Head Coach Kris Waltze. "He came into the road trip very focused and ready to play. Kris proved to everyone that he is capable of playing at a very high level and leading our team to victory."
The Jackals return to action Friday, October 27th as they host the Flint Generals for a 7:35 pm face off at First Arena. The Jackals will also face Flint on Saturday, October 28th at First Arena.
