K-Wings run into road block

Kalamazoo, MI - The Kalamazoo Wings season came to an abrupt end Tuesday night as the Greenville Road Warriors defeated the K-Wings 3-1 in game six of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals. The Road Warriors took the series four games to two.

Stealing the puck behind the K-Wings net, from goaltender Joel Martin, Josh Nicholls laid it in front to Andrew Yogan (1st), who jammed it into the open the net 8:22 into the contest.

Kalamazoo responded four minutes later on a four-on-four encounter, when Matt Caria (4th) found the top right shelf from an Eric Kattelus rebound.

The score remained tied through the second period. Greenville broke through late in the third period with a redirected game-winner from Emerson Clark (1st) 1:56 remaining in regulation.

Michael St. Croix (1st) put the game out of reach tacking on an empty netter with 40 seconds left.

Greenville moves on to the Eastern Conference Semifinals, where they will play the Wheeling Nailers.
