Abbotsford Reassigns Defenseman Zach Davies to Alaska

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - The Alaska Aces, proud ECHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League, announced today that the Abbotsford Heat of the American Hockey League have reassigned defenseman Zach Davies to the Aces.

Abbotsford is the AHL affiliate of the Aces and Flames.

Davies, 25, returns with 17 points (7g-10a) and a +7 rating in 31 games with the Aces, leaving for Abbotsford on Mar. 3 ranking second among Aces defensemen in scoring. He had four multi point games in the regular season.

The 6-foot, 170 pound defenseman also collected three goals and six penalty minutes with Abbotsford and was signed to an AHL contract before the start of the 2013-14 regular season.

Including those on reserve, Davies boosts the total to 22 players on the Aces playoff roster. Defenseman Kane Lafranchise, currently skating with Abbotsford, is the lone remaining player on the Aces Playoff Eligible List.

The Aces open the Western Conference Semifinals with Game 1 against the Idaho Steelheads on Thursday at Sullivan Arena, starting at 7:15 p.m. (GCI/KFQD).
