
K-Wings Receive Friesen and Young

Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings, proud member of the ECHL, three-time defending North Division Champions and National Hockey League affiliate to the Vancouver Canucks, and American Hockey League's Chicago Wolves announce that forward Alex Friesen has been reassigned from the Canucks to the K-Wings and defenseman Harry Young has been reassigned by the New Jersey Devils.
Starting the season in the AHL, Friesen recorded 5 points (1 goal, 4 assists) in 39 games with the Chicago Wolves. A sixth round selection (172nd overall) of the Vancouver Canucks in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, Friesen played five seasons in the OHL with the Niagara IceDogs, where he was a teammate of current Canucks prospect of Darren Archibald in 2010-2011.
Last season with the IceDogs, Friesen recorded career-highs in 45 assists and 71 points, while tying his career-high in goals with 26. Overall, the 22-year-old forward posted 81 goals, 153 assists and 244 points in 282 career OHL contests with Niagara from 2007 to 2012.
Young joins the K-Wings after playing one game with the Albany Devils. The defenseman, who has played in 30 games this season with Kalamazoo, has been in Albany since February.
In a separate transaction, the K-Wings have released forward Jeff Pierce.
Single-game tickets for the 2012-2013 season are on sale at the Wings Stadium Ticket Office. Ticket Office hours are Monday-Friday 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday's. To charge tickets by phone, please call Ticketmaster at 800-745-3000.
Tickets for all K-Wings home games are $13 and $17.50 for adults and only $7 for kids ages 14 and under. The price for all K-Wings premium night games (all colored ice games and New Year's Eve game) are just $1 more.
Fans can save money by purchasing K-Wings single-game tickets in advance because tickets purchased on the day of a game increase by $2 (adults only).
