
Everblades Slip Past Stingrays 2-1

Estero, FL - The South Carolina Stingrays (34-25-4-3) fell to the Florida Everblades (33-20-4-7) 2-1 at Germain Arena Wednesday night. The loss snaps a six-game point streak for South Carolina.
Former Stingrays forward Daniel Koger kicked off the scoring and gave the Everblades a 1-0 lead on the power play at 8:32 of the first period lifting a shot over the glove of goaltender Ryan Zapolski (L, 38 saves on 40 shots) from the bottom of the left-wing circle. Stingrays defenseman Damon Kipp tied the contest moments later batting a loose puck past the left arm of Everblades netminder Pat Nagle (W, 29 saves on 30 shots) from the top of the crease at 9:58. Forward Peter Boyd and blueliner Derek Foam added assists.
With three minutes left in the third period, Everblades forward Corey Trivino buried the game-winning tally and his 13 goal of the season. After outshooting the Everblades 16-10 in the first period, the Stingrays finished the contest with 30 shots to Florida's 40. The Stingrays ended the night 0-for-3 on the power play while the Everblades went 1-for-4.
The Stingrays continue a three-game road trip against the Everblades on Saturday, March 16 at 7:00 p.m. at Germain Arena and return to the Coliseum on Friday, March 22 for Hall of Fame Night presented by the Post and Courier and Fan Appreciation Night !
