ECHL Announces Fines, Suspension

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL on Wednesday announced the following fines and suspension.

Ontario's Couture fined, suspended

Ontario's Derek Couture has been suspended for two games fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #727, Ontario at Stockton, on March 10.

Couture was assessed a match penalty under Rule #21.1 at 4:48 of the third period. He is fined and suspended under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline.

Couture will miss Ontario's games vs. Stockton (March 15) and at Stockton (March 16).

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players' Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player's Hardship Fund.

Toledo's Vitucci fined

Toledo head coach Nick Vitucci has been fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #713, Toledo at Kalamazoo, on March 9.

Vitucci was assessed a game misconduct under Rule #39.5 at 19:27 of the third period. He is fined under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline.
