K-Wings Have Best Attendance In 11 Years

Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings, proud member of the ECHL and affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers and San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League, announce the final regular season attendance average to watch the K-Wings is the highest it has been since in the 1998-99 season.

In 36 regular season home contests, 123,602 fans, an average of 3,433 per game came to Wings Stadium during the 2009-10 season.

The average of 3,433 is an increase of 7.6% from last season, a boost of 243 people per night.

The 2009-10 attendance is the most to witness K-Wings hockey at Wings Stadium since the 1998-99 season, when Kalamazoo was in the original International Hockey League. In that season, the average attendance was 3,724 fans per game.

With the regular season complete the K-Wings will now prepare for their American Conference Quarterfinal match-up versus the Reading Royals.

Game one of the K-Wings-Royals series will begin tomorrow, Tuesday, April 6th at Wings Stadium with a 7 p.m. face-off. Game two of the series will occur on Wednesday, April 7th, also at 7 p.m.

Getting fans in the mood for the teams first Kelly Cup Playoff run, Wings Stadium has decided to expand the $1 beer, $1 hot dog promotion to include all round one postseason home games.

While supplies last, fans attending game one and two of the series will receive a FREE playoff rally towel courtesy of the United Kennel Club.

Individual playoff tickets are on sale now to the general public. Tickets for K-Wings home games in the postseason will range from $11.90 (Blue Level)-$16.90 (Red Level). Seats for kids 12 and under will cost $8.90. Ticket will increase $1 on day of game purchases.

Discounts are also available for groups of 15 or more people.
