Everblades Finish Regular Season With Win

The Florida Everblades finished the regular season in Germain Arena last weekend. The 'Blades dropped a decision to Charlotte on Friday night 3-1 before a near sell-out crowd of 7, 151. The Everblades treated a crowd of 7,101 on Saturday night to an exciting 4-3 shootout victory. Florida finished the regular season 21-13-2-0 at home.

The Everblades, making their 12th straight appearance in the Kelly Cup Playoffs, will host the Elmira Jackals on Tuesday, April 6 and Wednesday, April 7 at 7:30 p.m. Taco Bell will be giving away a free seasoned beef crunchy taco to the first 3,500 fans through the gates on Tuesday and Wednesday night. Plus, one lucky fan on each night will win a free weekly Taco Bell value meal for one year!

Friday, April 2 vs Charlotte Germain Arena 7:30PM

GAME NOTES: The Florida Everblades and Charlotte Checkers met for the 13th time in the regular season last Friday night in Germain Arena. Aaron Slattengren and Matt Stefanishion led the Checkers to a 3-1 victory each chipping in a goal and an assist. The Everblades lone goal came from Matthew Pistilli, while goaltender Adrien Lemay made 24 saves in a losing effort.

Saturday, April 3 @ Charlotte Germain Arena 7:30PM

GAME NOTES: The Everblades responded on Saturday night taking a 3-1 advantage to the final period of play. Milan Gajic, Ross Carlson and Brandon Buck all scored for Florida who finished the season 7-6-1 against Charlotte. The Checkers tied the game with two third period goals to force overtime. In the shootout, Shea Guthrie was the only goal scorer of six shooters for each club to give Florida the 4-3 win.

The Everblades and Jackals have met just twice this season with both games taking place in Elmira. The 'Blades are 0-1-0-1. Elmira got two goals from ex-Everblade Yannick Tifu to skate past Florida 3-1 decision on January 8. The following night the Everblades over came a 4-1 deficit midway through the game to ultimately force overtime at 4-4. Colin Nicholson scored the only goal in the shootout, while Elmira got tallies from Justin and Tyler Donati to edge the Everblades 5-4.
