Sharp on his way back to Condorstown

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors, official ECHL affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks, have announced that C MacGregor Sharp has been reassigned by Anaheim to the Condors from the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League.

Sharp, 24, began his rookie season with the Condors, recording 14 points (4g-10a) in 15 games. He then became the first non-goaltender in ECHL history to be recalled directly to the National Hockey League, getting the call from Anaheim on Nov. 18. The Red Deer, Alberta, native played eight games with the Ducks this sharpseason. He was then reassigned to the Rampage in the AHL, where he has appeared in 38 games, registering 17 points (8g-9a). Sharp returned to the Condors lineup for a pair of critical divisional games last week, helping Bakersfield to a victory in Stockton and recording two assists in two outings.

Sharp joins LW Kyle Calder, D Stu Bickel and G J.P. Levasseur as players assigned by the Ducks in the last 24 hours, as they prepare for their opening round match up against the Victoria Salmon Kings. The best-of-five series commences on Wednesday.

The Condors must submit their 23-man playoff roster to the ECHL office by noon (PT) today. No players other than those listed on the playoff roster, except under emergency conditions, shall be eligible to participate for a team during the playoffs. Playoff rosters shall include a 20-man active roster and a three-man reserve list. Nine players are either here or finished the season on the Condors roster courtesy of Anaheim.

ON THE DOCKET:

The Condors and Salmon Kings open up their series on Wednesday in Victoria for Game 1, and Thursday for Game 2. The series shifts to Bakersfield for Game 3 on Saturday, Apr. 10. Games 4 and 5, if necessary, will take place on Sunday and Monday, Apr. 11 and 12. The Condors get started with the Red Riot in the playoffs on Saturday night, encouraging fans to wear red to the game, and will hand out red Rally Towels to everyone in attendance, sponsored by ABC23, Goodwill Industries and Cal Water. In addition, red-clad Marvel Comics superhero Iron Man will be in the house as well to meet fans and pose in the Condors photo booth.
