Stingrays Weekly: Stingrays Enter Post-Season On Winning Streak

The South Carolina Stingrays closed the regular season with three straight road contests against the Gwinnett Gladiators for a week record of 3-0-0. The Stingrays traveled to The Arena at Gwinnet Center on Wednesday and cruised to a 5-1 victory. Forward Trent Campbell led the way with two goals and an assist. The series continued on Friday with the Stingrays grabbing a quick 3-0 lead. The Gladiators fought back to tie the game with three third-period goals, but fell 4-3 in regulation thanks to a game-winning marker from Campbell late in the frame. The two teams closed out the regular season on Saturday with the Stingrays picking up a 3-0 win. Goaltender Beau Erickson earned his first professional shutout stopping all 10 Gladiators shots and defenseman Derek Keller scored his first professional goal in the win.

Taking the Lead:

The Stingrays are second in the South Division with 94 points and fourth overall in the American Conference.

Stingrays rookie forward Jake Hauswirth stands 16 on the ECHL rookie chart with 17 goals and 27 assists for 44 points. Forward Rob Ricci ranks 11 among ECHL rookies with 50 points (25g, 25a).

Stingrays forward Trent Campbell is 17 in the ECHL with 68 points (20g, 48a) and is currently on a seven-game point streak with four goals and six assists.

Goaltender Todd Ford ranks fifth among ECHL goalies with an 18-7-2 record, a 2.79 goals-against average and a .910 save percentage. Goalie Shane Connelly sits in 15 with a 16-14-7 record, a 3.22 GAA and a .891 save percentage.
