JUPITER, Fla. - Jupiter Hammerheads right-hander Scott Lyman has been named the Florida State League Pitcher of the Week for the week of May 12-18. It is the second time in his career he has received this honor.

The 24-year-old from Alamo, CA picked up a complete game victory on May 14th when he limited Clearwater to one run on five hits. It was the first complete game win by a Hammerheads starter this weekend.

Lyman has posted a quality start in seven of his nine outings this season. His 1.61 ERA is the fourth lowest earned run average in the Florida State League among qualifying pitchers.

The right-hander becomes the first Hammerheads pitcher to win the honor in 2014. Previously, Lyman was named the FSL Pitcher of the Week for the week of August 19-25 of 2013. In early May, Lyman was named the Miami Marlins Minor League Pitcher of the Month for the month of April.

Lyman was drafted by the Marlins in the 10th round of the 2011 draft out of the University of California, Davis. He split last year between Greensboro and Jupiter posting a 7-8 record with a 4.00 ERA in 26 starts (six of which came with the Hammerheads).

He currently leads the Hammerheads in innings pitched (56.0) and strikeouts (40) and he has the best ERA (1.61) and WHIP (1.02) among Jupiter starting pitchers.
