TAMPA, Fla. - The Tampa Yankees (23-20) completed a four-game sweep of the Palm Beach Cardinals (18-26) with a 2-0 win on Monday night at George M. Steinbrenner Field. The Yankees winning streak has now reached seven games.
Along with a 4-0 shutout in Lakeland in the season opener, the T-Yanks pitching staff now has two 1-hit performances.
Dan Camarena (3-3) retired the first 15 batters he faced. The southpaw tallied three strikeouts over six shutout innings, allowing a walk and a hit.
Dietrich Enns, Stefan Lopez and JamezPazos each pitched a perfect relief inning. Enns collected one strikeout while Lopez and Pazos tallied two. Pazos earned his second save of the season.
The Yankees pushed across their first run in the fourth against Cardinals' starter Nick Petree.
Eric Jagielo drew a walk and advanced on a balk. Angelo Gumbs later worked a two-out walk before Trent Garrison delivered an RBI single to center field.
Petree (2-1) yielded one run on two hits and four walks, striking out six in four innings of work.
Tampa tacked on an insurance run in the fifth.
Jake Cave led off the frame with a double against RHP Kyle Barraclough. Cito Culver drew a walk and Greg Bird grounded into a fielder's choice to shortstop.
