JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Jumbo Shrimp starter Daniel Castano hurled six shutout innings on Friday, but Jacksonville dropped the rubber match 3-1 to the Biloxi Shuckers from the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville. Phillips, NAPA AutoCare Family Fireworks, a Red Shirt Friday and Friday Night Lites spiced up by Tijuana Flats presented by Miller Lite and Coors Light.
The game was scoreless in the seventh when Jacksonville (49-55, 20-14) reliever Chad Smith (1-1) ceded a single to Patrick Leonard. Dillon Thomas followed with a two-run home run to put Biloxi (63-41, 22-12) ahead 2-0. Two batters later, Cooper Hummel was hit by a pitch. He moved to third on an error before scoring on Max McDowell's squeeze bunt.
With the score still 3-0, Bryson Brigman doubled with two outs in the eighth. He scored on Riley Mahan's RBI double to get the Jumbo Shrimp on the board at 3-1.
