AUSTIN, TX - Dwayne Jones grabbed 28 rebounds and scored 31 points and the Austin Toros defeated the Rio Grande Valley Vipers 110-106 in the regular season home finale for the Toros on Friday night at the Austin Convention Center.

Jones tied the NBA D-League record of 28 rebounds in a game set by former Toro and current Reno Bighorn Rod Benson.

With the victory over Rio Grande Valley, the Toros set a new franchise record for the most victories in the regular season with the team's 31st win of the season.

"The guys really came together tonight while adjusting to different roles and positions," Toros head coach Quin Snyder. "Dwayne and Malik were terrific."

Toros center Dwayne Jones, the team's leading rebounder with 12.7 per game, collected a franchise record 28 rebounds for the game, breaking his own record of 23 set against Tulsa earlier this season.

Jones pulled down 19 rebounds in the first half, setting new franchise records for the rebounds in the first half and the most rebounds in a quarter with 13 in the first quarter. Malik Hairston also added a game-high 41 points in the victory.

Rio Grande Valley was led in scoring by Julian Sensley, who scored 20 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Kurt Looby collected a team-high 15 rebounds and Jared Jordan dished out a team-high 10 assists.
