The Johnstown Chiefs (26-15-5; 57 PTS; 4th Northern div.) went unbeaten for the second straight week as they went 2-0-0, with wins over Wheeling and Cincinnati, in an abbreviated week. The Chiefs were scheduled to have home games against Peoria last Friday and Saturday, however both games were postponed due to snow and ice damage to the War Memorial Arena. The games will be made up at a later date. This week, the Chiefs will play two road games. Friday night, they are at Toledo and Saturday night, Reading. The Chiefs are currently in sole possession of fourth place in the division leading fifth place Reading by two points and trailing third place Peoria by three points.

GAME #45 (2/4/04) JOHNSTOWN 3 - Wheeling 0 Campbell 18 Saves

Wednesday night, the Johnstown Chiefs shutout the ECHL's best team, Wheeling Nailers, 3-0 at the Cambria County War Memorial Arena. Chiefs goaltender Cory Campbell posted his franchise record fourth shutout making 18 saves. The win was also the team's sixth shutout of the season, also a franchise record. Jeff Zehr was named the games number one star scoring two goals. Brent Kelly scored the other Johnstown goal. Tyler MacKay suffered the loss for Wheeling making 24 saves on 27 shots. Joe Exter (2 saves) relieved MacKay with just under 9:00 remaining.

GAME #46 (2/8/04) Johnstown 5 - CINCINNATI 3 Courville Two Goals

The Johnstown Chiefs scored four goals in the third period as they posted a 5-3 come from behind win over the Cincinnati Cyclones, Sunday afternoon at U.S. Bank Arena. Trailing 2-0 in the second period; Johnstown's Jeff Zehr scored his third goal in as many games with the club to close the gap to 2-1. Larry Courville scored the first of his two third period goals at 2:51 into the final frame and tie up the game 2-2. Cincinnati regained the lead when Evan Cheverie tallied his second goal of the season at 9:59. The Chiefs would storm back with Courville's second of the night just 1:04 later and then took the lead for good as Brent Bilodeau scored his third goal of the season at 12:59. Jay Langager added an empty net, shorthanded goal. Chiefs goaltender David Currie got the win making 20 saves. Tyler Masters suffered the loss for Cincinnati making 35 saves.

Friday night, the Chiefs travel to Toledo to take on the Storm (19-23-5, 43 PTS; T-7th Northern div.). The Chiefs are 2-2-1 against the Storm this season and 38-43-1 all-time. Toledo has out scored the Chiefs 15-13 this season. Toledo is 3-6-1 in their last ten games and is below .500 at the Toledo Sports Arena this season (9-11-2).

The Chiefs will travel 480 miles from Toledo to Reading to face-off against the Royals (24-15-7, 55 PTS; 5th Northern div.) Saturday night at the Sovereign Center. The Chiefs are 4-2-0 against the Royals this season with both losses in Reading. The Chiefs have outscored the Royals 16-11 this season. Reading has the ECHL's best home record (15-1-2) and is 6-3-1 in their last ten games. Chiefs goaltender David Currie is 3-0-0 with a 1.33 GAA and a 0.962 save percentage in three games vs. Reading.
