The Gulls and Ice Dogs have met seven times this season with San Diego holding a 6-0-1 edge. The two teams will clash two more times in the regular season.

San Diego owns the all-time series match-up, posting a 33-10-2 record against its Pacific Division rival. The Gulls are unbeaten in their last 20 games against the Ice Dogs (19-0-1).

LAST HEAD-TO-HEAD MEETING: JAN. 29:

Chris Gobert netted the game-winning goal 4:42 into the second period and David Burleigh made 31 saves, leading San Diego to 2-1 victory over the Ice Dogs. Mark Pederson started the scoring midway through the first period before Long Beach's Lee Sorochan tied it minutes later. After Gobert's tally in the second, the Gulls' defense took over, holding the Ice Dogs to 10 shots in the third period.

GULLS UPDATE:

The Gulls (31-11-4) had their nine-game winning streak snapped last week in Idaho. They, however, are still unbeaten in 11 of their last 12 games (10-1-1) and 24 of their last 28 (22-4-2)... San Diego enters the day first in the Pacific Division, three points ahead of the Las Vegas Wranglers... The Gulls have won an ECHL season-high 11 straight at home... They have the fourth-best winning percentage in the ECHL (.717)... The Blue and Orange are two points back of the Louisiana IceGators for the top spot in the Western Conference. They're four points behind the Wheeling Nailers for the best record in the ECHL...

OTHER NOTES:

San Diego is 29-8-4 against Pacific Division teams, including an 18-1-0 mark at home... The Gulls have outscored their opponents 100-60 during the last 28 games... They haven't lost to Long Beach in regulation since Oct. 26, 2002.

STREAKS SNAPPED:

Pederson, who was selected as the ECHL Player of the Month for January, had his league season-high 20-game point streak snapped Saturday in Idaho. He had 33 points (20g, 13a) during that stretch. Pederson still leads the league with 31 goals, four ahead of Florida's Brian McCullough and Louisiana's Bobby Brown... Greg Barber also had his career-high 13-game point streak come to an end Saturday. The rookie winger has 25 points (9g, 16a) in his last 16 games and ranks second among all ECHL rookies with 46 points overall, two behind Atlantic City's Jon Cullen... The line of Pederson, Barber and Sylvain Deschatelets has combined for 67 points (26g, 41a) in the last 16 games. The three were shutout Saturday for the first time since Dec. 7... Deschatelets has 31 points (6g, 25a) in the last 21 games...

LONG BEACH UPDATE:

The Ice Dogs (15-27-3) enter the day sixth in the Pacific Division with 33 points, four ahead of the last-place Fresno Falcons. They are 21 points behind the Alaska Aces for the final playoff spot in the division... Long Beach is unbeaten in seven of its last 12 games (6-5-1)... The Ice Dogs have won three of their last four games on the road...

TRANSACTIONS:

Trent Clark was signed today... Mike Garrow returned from the American Hockey League's Utah Grizzlies on Saturday... Kevin Grant remains on the injured list with a strained neck... Josh Gratton remains with the AHL's Mighty Ducks...
