Frisco RoughRiders News Release
SPRINGFIELD, Mo- The Texas Rangers announced Wednesday that former Frisco RoughRiders pitcher John Fasola has been named the organization's Minor League Reliever of the Month for July.
Fasola, 24, made 10 relief appearances in July for Frisco and was 5-for-5 in save opportunities. He went 1-0 with a 1.20 ERA (2 ER in 15.0 IP), allowing just five hits, three walks and striking out 16 in that span. Fasola closed out the month with 12 consecutive scoreless innings, one of the longest scoreless streaks for Riders pitchers this season.
The righty out of Hudson, Ohio joined the RoughRiders May 23 from Extended Spring Training, after beginning the season with Class A-Advanced High Desert and making two appearances for Triple-A Round Rock. He worked a total of 22 games with the Riders, going 3-1 with a 3.73 ERA, striking out 35, and walking just nine.
As a result of his impressive work out of the bullpen, Fasola was promoted to Round Rock on August 3 jsp&vkeypr_t540&sidt540) . In three games since rejoining the Express, Fasola has allowed one earned run in 3 2/3 innings of work with no walks and three strikeouts.

In April, Ryan Cordell (Player of the Month), Isiah Kiner-Falefa (Defender), and Ryne Slack (Reliever) were honored by the Rangers. Victor Payano (Pitcher) and Alberto Triunfel (Defender) were recognized for their performances in June.
Aside from Fasola, former Riders pitcher Nick Martinez, now teammates with Fasola in Round Rock, was named the organization's Pitcher of the Month for July. High Desert outfielder Scott Heineman (Player) and infielder Jose Trevino (Defender) were also recognized by the Rangers.
