Joe Rock's Ten Strikeouts and Bladimir Restituyo 15th Home Run Not Enough in Portland

Portland, Maine- The Hartford Yard Goats opened their final road trip of the season with a 6-3 loss against the Portland Sea Dogs on Tuesday night at Hadlock Field in Portland, Maine. Portland scored six runs in the eighth inning, highlighted by a three-run double by Nathan Hickey. Yard Goats left-hander Joe Rock struck out ten batters in five innings of work. It was the second time that he had a double-digit strikeout game as he tied a franchise record with 12 strikeouts on June 29th against Binghamton. Bladimir Restituyo blasted his 15th homer, a two-run shot in the third inning which gave the Yard Goats a 2-0 lead.

The Yard Goats took a 2-0 lead in the second inning as Bladimir Restituyo cranked a two-run home run off Sea Dogs starter Hunter Dobbins. The Hartford outfielder cranked a fastball into the screen above the 37-foot-high Maine Monster wall in left field. The ball was hit 104 mph off the bat, traveled 389 feet, and was Restituyo's 15th home run of the season. The Yard Goats made it 3-0 with a run on an error in the fifth inning.

Hartford had a 3-0 lead through seven innings. The Sea Dogs scored six times in the eighth inning to take a 6-3 lead. Portland loaded the bases on three walks and an RBI single by Chase Meidroth to make it 3-1. Nathan Hickey followed with a base clearing double to make it 4-3 Portland. Matthrew Lugo's sacrifice fly made it a 6-3 game.

The Yard Goats will continue their six-game road trip against the Boston Red Sox affiliate, the Portland Sea Dogs, at Hadlock Field in Portland, Maine on Wednesday night at 6:00 PM. RHP Case Williams will start for the Yard Goats and RHP Isaac Coffey will pitch for the Sea Dogs. The game will be broadcast on AM 1410, FM 100.9 and on the iheart radio app.
