Jim McKinnon Tabbed to Lead Falcons as Team President
October 20, 2005 - ECHL (ECHL)
Fresno Falcons News Release
FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno Falcons have named Jim McKinnon team president. He will oversee the organization's business operations and the 2006 Bud Light ECHL All-Star Game and Skills Competition, which the Falcons are hosting at Save Mart Center on January 24 and 25. Head coach and general manager Matt Thomas will continue to head-up the team's hockey operations department.
McKinnon has worked the last three years as the assistant general manager and director of operations for the ECHL's Las Vegas Wranglers, of which Falcons owner Charles Davenport is a partial owner. Accepting this position is a return to Fresno for McKinnon, who spent parts of three seasons with the Falcons from 2000-2002 as a sales and operations executive for the organization. He is a graduate of Fresno Pacific University, where he played for the men's soccer team.
"I've worked for Charles for five years now, and I'm honored that he would entrust me with this responsibility," said McKinnon. "It's exciting to be back in Fresno, and I look forward to putting on a first-class event during the All-Star Game and taking the Falcons to even greater heights."
The Falcons open the 2005-06 regular season on Oct. 21 and 22 at Save Mart Center against the Victoria Salmon Kings and Stockton Thunder, respectively. Both games begin at 7 p.m. Single-game tickets are on sale now at all Ticketmaster outlets and Save Mart Center's box office. Prices range from $8 - $23. For complete ticket information and an arena map of Save Mart Center, visit www.fresnofalcons.com/singletickets.html, or contact the Falcons front office directly at (559) 485-PUCK (7825).
