JetHawks Offense Outlasts 66ers 10-6

San Bernardino, CA- The Lancaster JetHawks outlasted the Inland Empire 66ers with a 10-6 win at San Manuel Stadium on Thursday. Lancaster evened the series at one-game apiece as the JetHawks banged out 15 hits.

Lancaster scored three runs in the first inning off Inland Empire starter Victor Alcantara topped off by Ronnie Mitchell's two-run single. Alcantara (4-7) eventually was charged with the loss as the righty from Santo Domingo, DR gave up six runs on nine hits in 3.2 innings with two Ks and two walks. JetHawks starter Keegan Yuhl allowed three runs on four hits over 3.2 IP and did not figure in the decision in his first Cal League start following 15 bullpen appearances.

The 66ers could not slow down the JetHawks (49-41, 12-8) offense as every starter but one collected a hit including three from 1B Chase McDonald and three more from Mitchell who also knocked three runs in. McDonald doubled while Derek Fisher homered (9th) for the JetHawks. Also going deep was Redlands HS product Jacob Nottingham. The former Bulldog tagged his fourth of the year.

The 66ers had nine hits on the night. All four of the 66ers (42-47, 8-12) extra base hits went for triples, a season-high. The 66ers got three-baggers from Kody Eaves, Mark Shannon, Bo Way and Michael Strentz. Way, Eaves and Roberto Baldoquin all had two-hit nights. Eaves, Baldoquin and Tyler Palmer each stole a base in the loss.

Southpaw Jordan Mills (1-0) earned his first Cal League win for the JetHawks with 2.2 innings of effective relief pitching. Ronnie Muck threw a perfect 1.1 innings with three Ks for the Sixers. The contest took 3 hours and 29 minutes to complete and the clubs combined to toss 359 pitches.
