DES MOINES, Iowa - Kyle Jensen slammed a home run and drove home 5 runs as the Zephyrs defeated the Iowa Cubs 9-2 in a rain-shortened contest at Principal Park. The win snapped the Z's two game losing skid and improved their record to 51-52.

Jensen started the scoring for the Z's in the second inning with a two run home run. The Z's added to the lead in the third inning with a run scoring double from Kevin Kouzmanoff and a RBI base hit from Nick Green.

The Cubs answered with a Donnie Murphy home run in the third inning. Iowa scored another run in the fourth with a RBI double from Edgar Gonzalez.

Jensen drove home two more runs in the fifth inning with a two run double. New Orleans added runs in the sixth and seventh innings to extend the lead to 9-2.

The tarp crew pulled the tarp at the end of the seventh inning while heavy winds and lightning was in the area. The rain started shortly after the field was covered and the game was called official after a 1:25 rain delay.

Jared Rogers pitched six innings allowed two runs on six hits and earned his fifth win. Nick Struck allowed seven runs on ten hits in the defeat. Struck was ejected two innings after he exited the game for arguing with the umpire.

Game Notes - Jensen's five RBI matched his career high. Jensen drove in five as a Zephyr on June 28th in Round Rock. The rain delay was the Z's ninth of the season.
