Wisconsin Timber Rattlers News Release

BURLINGTON, IA -- Wisconsin Timber Rattler pitcher Aaron Jensen pitched seven shutout innings to beat the Burlington Bees 5-0 Tuesday night at Community Field. Yung Chi Chen provided the all the offense Jensen would need with a two run homer in the top of the first inning. Jensen allowed three hits and struck out a pair for his eighth win of the season.

Chen gave the Timber Rattlers (68-54 overall, 29-23 second half) a 2-0 lead with a line drive two-run homer to left in the top of the first.

Rattler starting pitcher Aaron Jensen got out of a pair of bases loaded jams in the bottom of the first. The Bees (61-61, 27-25) loaded the bases with no outs on a single, a walk, and an error. Cleanup hitter Rusty Brown sent a flyball to shallow right. Mike Wilson made the catch and then threw out Irving Falu at the plate for the second out. Jensen hit the next batter to reload the bases, but got the next batter to groundout to end the inning.

Wisconsin took advantage of three Burlington errors and scored two runs in the top of the fourth. Luis Soto reached on an error and went to third on an errant pick-off throw. Brandon Green knocked in Soto with a sacrifice fly. Later in the inning, Brent Johnson drove in a run with a single.

In the fifth inning, Jeff Clement drove in a run with a sacrifice fly and the Rattlers were up 5-0.

Jensen left after seven innings. He walked three, hit two batters, and threw a wild pitch, but kept the Bees off the scoreboard to snap a personal two game losing streak.

Wisconsin reliever Jason Snyder worked the final two innings without allowing a run.

Game three of the four game series is Wednesday night. Cibney Bello (4-2, 3.92ERA) is slated to start for the Rattlers. The Bees will counter with Luis Cota (4-6, 3.96ERA). Game time is 7:00pm.
