Jason Fram Earns Canada West All-Star Honors

Former Spokane Chiefs captain Jason Fram has been named a Canada West first team all-star following a stellar season with the University of Alberta. Fram played for Spokane from 2011-16, including back-to-back seasons as team captain in his final two years as a Chief.

A 1995-born defenseman from Vancouver, B.C., Fram played 28 games with the Alberta Golden Bears this season, leading all CWUAA defenseman in goals (nine), assists (21) and points (30). The Golden Bears carry a 13-game winning streak into their playoff match-up with the University of Calgary on Friday, February 22.

Fram played 308 career WHL regular season games, all of which came with the Chiefs, ending his career +42 and totaling 187 PTS (33G, 154A). Fram also played 38 WHL playoff games scoring an additional 14 points (3G-11A). Fram's 308 regular season games played as a Spokane Chief ranks 10th all-time and his 53 assists during the 2014-15 season ranks ninth all-time among Chiefs defensemen.

The WHL is committed to recognizing academic excellence. Awards are presented annually to the WHL's Scholastic Player and Team of the Year.

For each season played in the WHL, a player is awarded with a one-year post-secondary scholarship, which includes tuition, compulsory fees, and required textbooks.

A player is able to attend any post-secondary or career-enhancing institution of his choice, including universities, colleges, technical institutes, trade schools, or any other institution which will help the player achieve his academic and career goals.
