Winnipeg Goldeyes News Release

Winnipeg Goldeyes manager Rick Forney announced today the acquisition of right-handed pitcher Jason Jarvis from the Sioux City Explorers in exchange for three players to be named later and cash considerations.

Jarvis, 25, is 5-10 with a 4.27 ERA in 18 starts with the Explorers. He's posted two complete games, including a complete-game shutout. In 2012, the product of Concord, Calif. went 9-8 with a 4.14 ERA and six complete games, which included a pair of complete game shutouts.

Jarvis was selected by the San Francisco Giants in the 23rd round of the 2008 MLB amateur and played three seasons in their system where he was a teammate of Josh Mazzola in 2008.

In a separate move, the Goldeyes have placed left-handed pitcher Edgar Osuna on the inactive list due to an elbow injury, retroactive to August 10.

The Goldeyes have 21 players on their active roster, including 10 pitchers and 11 position players.

Winnipeg finishes a four-game series in Sioux City tonight at 5:05 p.m. with the completion of last night's game. The scheduled game is slated to begin at 7:05 p.m. tonight and will be seven innings.

Tickets for all Goldeyes games can be purchased through Ticketmaster by calling 1-855-GOLDEYE, clicking on Ticketmaster.ca or visiting any Ticketmaster location, including the Shaw Park box office.
