Jaramillo Named Phillies Minor League Player Of The Week

OTTAWA - Lynx catcher Jason Jaramillo was named the Phillies Minor League Player of the Week for the week ending April 22nd. He is the first Lynx player to receive the honour. Clearwater pitcher Pat Overholt was named Pitcher of the Week.

Jaramillo hit safely in all five games he played this week and was 5-for-10 with 2 RBI in the two-game series vs. Scranton this past weekend. He is a rising star in the Phillies system. Known as an excellent defensive catcher, he spent most of last season at Double-A Reading, where he hit .248 with 6 HR and 39 RBI.

Jaramillo currently sits 4th in the International League in batting average (.395) and 5th in on-base percentage (.465). He is currently on a seven-game hit streak.

The Lynx have today off as they travel to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre for a series against the Yankees Tuesday through Thursday. The Lynx swept a two-game series between the two clubs this past weekend by a combined score of 21-7. The Lynx will be back in town Friday for an eight-game homestand with games against Indianapolis and Louisville.
