
Jammed Pack Homestand Coming this Weekend

Wichita, KS (Feb. 18th) - The Wichita Thunder, proud member of the ECHL and powered by Toyota, are preparing for a jammed packed weekend with two home games this Friday and Saturday. Friday Night is NASCAR Night, presented by Arby's, T-Mobile and Kansas Speedway. Saturday Night is an Evening with the ARC as well as the 4th Annual Cops vs. Fire charity hockey game, presented by K-12 and EagleMed LLC.
On Friday night, come celebrate the start of NASCAR season. Fans will have a chance to win great prizes from the Kansas Speedway such as four tickets to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race on May 8th, four tickets to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race on May 9th, a signed t-shirt from Joey Logano, signed hat from Ricky Stenhouse, a signed hat from Kevin Harvick and a signed hat from Matt Kenseth.
On Saturday night, the Flying Monkeys look to defend their crown after winning the Chiefs Cup the past three seasons. The game will be played between the local police departments and the local firefighters with a portion of the ticket proceeds benefiting the Wichita Children's Home. Doors to the event open at 5 p.m. with the opening face-off at 5:15 p.m. Fans have a chance to see a helicopter, ground ambulance and education trailer outside near Entrance B, courtesy of EagleMed. There will also be a fire truck and two police vehicles outside for fans to get pictures with. EagleMed LLC is a privately owned and operated critical care air medical and ground transport service. Saturday is also the annual Evening with the Arc. The team will be wearing special uniforms that will be auctioned off after the game with the proceeds benefiting the Arc of Sedgwick County. The Arc's mission is to improve the quality of life for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families, providing educational and social opportunities to enhance development of individual potential while advocating for supports and services in the community. The Arc, through its seven major programs and hundreds of annual events, provides programs and services for more than 3,700 individuals living with intellectual and developmental disabilities including Down Syndrome, Autism, Epilepsy and Cerebral Palsy and their families.
Wichita plays on the road tonight against the Allen Americans before returning home for a five-game home-stand.
