Evansville IceMen News Release

EVANSVILLE, Ind.- The Evansville IceMen have picked up goaltender Branden Komm off of waivers from the Cincinnati Cyclones. Komm is expected to join the IceMen for tonight's game against Cincinnati.

Komm appeared in five games for Evansville earlier this season stopping 91.2 percent of the shots he faced. The rookie compiled a 2.85 goals against average in two starts and three relief appearances with the IceMen.

In just his second career start, Komm stopped 42 of the 45 Elmira Jackal shots he faced to help the IceMen earn a point in an overtime loss. On Dec. 21, 2014, Komm entered the game with the IceMen trailing the first place Fort Wayne Komets 2-0 early in the first period. The Williamsville, N.Y, native stopped 16 of the 17 shots he faced to force a shootout and help the IceMen get another point.

Since leaving Evansville, Komm has played with the Cincinnati Cyclones. Komm made only one appearance with the Cyclones, earning his first ECHL win in relief. In this game Komm stopped seven shots after coming in during the third period to help the Cyclones knock off Kalamazoo 5-4 in a shootout win.

Before turning pro, Komm played collegiately at Bentley University, where he picked up a school record 47 wins. Komm posted a 2.46 Goals Against Average and .923 save percentage in his senior year with the Falcons.

Komm holds 10 Bentley University records including the most saves, best career goals against average, and best career save percentage.

After Chris Driedger became the first IceMen player called up to the NHL, Evansville found itself with just one goaltender on the roster. Komm was placed on waivers by the Cyclones Tuesday and was immediately claimed by his former team.

Evansville will take on the Cincinnati Cyclones, Wednesday night at US Bank Arena. Game time is set for 6:35 p.m. Central time. Fans can enjoy that game live at Bar Louie, the Official Watch Party Destination of the Evansville IceMen.
