MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Suns posted four first-inning runs and cruised thanks to a strong outing from starter Joel Hanrahan in a 9-3 win over the Montgomery Biscuits in front of 3,425 fans Tuesday at Riverwalk Stadium in Montgomery, Ala.

Hanrahan retired 14 in a row entering the seventh and did not allow a hit past the second inning. He pitched 6-2/3 innings, his longest outing since July 20, 2003, covering a span of 53 starts.

The Suns sent up eight batters in the first inning against Biscuits starter Brian Stokes. Stokes (3-5) earned the loss, allowing five runs in five innings.

Justin Ruggiano went 4-for-5 with two RBI, Andy LaRoche had three hits and three RBI, Jon Weber had three singles and every Suns starter had a hit by the seventh inning. The Suns pounded 18 hits, one shy of a season-high.

Right-hander Eric Hull (7-5, 3.31 ERA) is scheduled to start against Biscuits righty Jeff Niemann (0-1, 3.38) at 8:05 p.m. Monday as the Suns (73-53 overall, 35-21 second half) face the Biscuits (61-67, 26-32) in the third game of a four-game series.
