Rottino Promoted to Nashville

Huntsville, AL- The Milwaukee Brewers have announced that Stars utility man Vinny Rottino has been promoted to Triple-A Nashville of the Pacific Coast League. Rottino, signed by the Brewers as a non-drafted free agent in 2003, was hitting .296 with six home runs and 52 RBI in 120 games for Huntsville and will join the Sounds tonight during their series against Oklahoma.

Rottino, in his third season of professional baseball, knocked in 124 runs in 2004 for the former Brewers Single-A affiliate Beloit Snappers. He was also named to the mid-season Southern League All-Star North team.

His spot on the Stars roster will be taken by Adam Heether. Heether, selected by the Brewers in the 11th round of the 2003 draft, was batting .305 with six home runs and 54 RBI in 93 games with the Brevard County Manatees.

The 23 year-old will join the Stars tonight during their series against the Mobile BayBears.
