Jacks Comeback for Third Period Win

(Odessa, TX) - Jeff Pierce's second effort in front of the net powered Odessa to a 4-3 third period lead and comeback victory at the Ector County Coliseum over the Amarillo Gorillas on Friday night. The final score was 6-3.

Collin Circelli tied the game at 3-3 on a power play goal at 17:12 of the second period, with :02 seconds remaining in the man advantage.

Amarillo opened up the scoring in the first period on goals from Jake Morissette and Joe Guenther. Dominic Leveille put Odessa on the board at 5:31 on assists from Mike Ramsay and Russ Moyer. Amarillo regained the two-goal lead at 10:46 of the first period when Gordon Bell slipped a puck past Juha Toivonen in front of the net. Mario Joly pulled the Jacks back within one when he muscled his way through the left circle and scored at 13:08. Amarillo led, 3-2, at the first intermission.

In the third period, Mike Ramsay added an empty net goal to give Odessa a 5-3 lead. Then Sebastien Thinel scored with 1.3 seconds left in the game on a two-on-zero rush with Pierce to make the final 6-3.

The Jacks magic number after the win is now seven points to clinch the Southwest Division.

Odessa will host the Texas Brahmas Saturday night at the Ector County Coliseum at 7:05 PM.
