
Bucks Look To Inch Closer To Brahmas Tonight

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League look to cut the Texas Brahmas Southeast Division lead to eight points Friday night, when the two teams meet at the NYTEX Sports Centre. Laredo enters the game 10 points behind Texas.

The Bucks will look to to 3-0 Friday night on their season-high five-game road trip. The Bucks swept New Mexico in the first two games of the trip last weekend, by beating them 3-1 and 4-2.
The Bucks had not won back-to-back road games since November 28th-29th, when they swept a two-game set at Arizona.
Both of the Bucks active leading scorers increased their totals last weekend in New Mexico, with Brent Cullaton picking up four points (1-3=4), and Darryl Smith tallying two goals. Cullaton enters Friday's game eighth in the league in scoring with 62 points (17-45=62), while Smith leads all CHL rookies with 54 points (28-26=54).
The Bucks have posted a 2-2 record against the Brahmas thus far this season, with both of their wins coming in shootouts. Laredo took shootout wins on December 6th (2-1 at Texas), and January 21st (5-4 at Laredo), while Texas won 4-1 (Jan 3rd at LAR) and 6-2 (Jan 17th at TEX). After Friday night the two team's will meet three more times, all in March.
Texas is one of the hottest teams in the league right now, claiming an 11-game home winning streak. The Brahmas have the best home mark in the league with a 20-3-1 mark.
Texas has not lost at home since December 26th, when they were shutout 3-0 by Rio Grande Valley.
Scott Sheppard leads the Brahmas in scoring with 55 points (26-29=55).
Laredo will return home for the final Big Buck Thirsty Thursday of the season on February 26th when they host Arizona at the LEC, where beer will be $2 all game long.
