Bucks Bulldozed By Brahmas 5-2

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League fell to the Texas Brahmas 5-2 Friday night at the NYTEX Sports Centre. The Bucks had their two-game winning streak snapped as they fall 12 points behind the Brahmas in the Southeast Division. Laredo falls to 28-17-4 (60pts). Texas won their 12th straight home game to improve to 34-12-4 (72pts).

The Brahmas jumped out in front of the Bucks as they scored four first period goals, to take a 4-0 lead after one.

Scott Sheppard and Jason Deitsch scored two goals apiece in the first period for Texas.

Sheppard leads the Brahmas with 28 goals on the season, while Deitsch, who added two assists in the game, has 13 tallies on the campaign.

Sheppard scored the first two goals of the game, at 3:51 and 8:48 to give the Brahmas a 2-0 lead, while Deitscsh tallied the final two markers of the first period, at 13:02 and 19:37.

The Bucks outshot the Brahmas in the first 20 minutes 8-7.

Sebastien Centomo was pulled after the first period as he allowed four goals on just seven Brahmas shots.

Texas increased their lead to 5-0 after two periods, as Jordan Cameron tallied a short-handed goal on a two-on-one break. Cameron's goal came from the right side of the crease as he took a pass from the left circle from Grant Jacobsen.

The Bucks outshot the Brahmas in the second period 13-6.

The Bucks scored two third period goals, with Ryan Salvis (11) and Josh Bonar tallying for Laredo. Bonar's goal was his first of the season.

Brett Jaeger stopped 24 of 26 Laredo shots to improve to 26-6-4 for the Brahmas.

Andrew Martin played well in relief of Centomo in net, as he set aside 16 of 17 Brahmas shots.

Laredo outshot Texas for the game 26-24.

The Bucks fall to 2-1 on their road trip.

The Bucks will continue their road trip Saturday night and Sunday afternoon in Amarillo.

Laredo will return home for the final Big Buck Thirsty Thursday of the season on February 26th when they host Arizona at the LEC, where beer will be $2 all game long.
