
Jackets Have Three Homers, but Fall to Hickory

Hickory, NC - The GreenJackets (10-10) opened a short three game road trip Wednesday night against the Hickory Crawdads (10-10) with a 6-3 loss. Starter Oliver Odle recorded the loss allowing six runs over 3.2 innings and Augusta plated all three runs on solo home runs.
Hickory took the early lead in the first inning when Jose De Los Santos scored from third when Miles Durham reached on a fielder's choice. The Crawdads made it 2-0 in the second inning on back-to-back one-doubles from Matt Cavagnaro and Bobby Spain.
The Crawdads increased their lead to 5-0 in the fifth inning on a three-run homer from Marcus Davis, his third home run of the season. Miles Durham led off the inning with a single then with one out Andrew Walker singled to set up Davis.
In the fourth inning Durham connected for a one-out RBI single scoring De Los Santos for a 6-0 Hickory lead.
Odle (1-2) allowed eight hits, one walk and struck out two batters.
Dustin Molleken (2-1) recorded the win for Hickory allowing three runs on six hits over seven innings. The right-hander walked one and struck out four.
Augusta plated its first run of the game in the fifth inning when Jackson Williams connected for a solo home run with one out, his first of the season.
The GreenJackets also got a two-out solo home run from Thomas Neal in the sixth inning and a lead off homer from Ramon Corona in the seventh inning.
The GreenJackets and Crawdads continue their series on Thursday night with Augusta sending lefty Madison Bumgarner (1-2, 7.71) to the hill. The Crawdads counter with right-hander Rafael De Los Santos (1-0, 3.21). First pitch is at 6:30 p.m.

Neal has hit safely in 12 straight games, the most games this season for Augusta
The GreenJackets fell to 6-3 on the road this season.
The GreenJackets have homered in a season high five straight games.
Waldis Joaquin worked 3.1 scoreless innings in relief of Odle allowing just three hits.
Andrew De La Garza pitched one inning and allowed one hit while striking out two.
