Elmira Jackals News Release

The Elmira Jackals announced Thursday that they have received forward Josh Aspenlind from the Lake Erie Monsters (AHL) on a loan basis. Aspenlind joined the Jackals on Wednesday night before their trip down to Charlotte.

With the acquisition, the Jackals regain an important contributor from their 2008-2009 team. Aspenlind notched 37 points (14g-23a) in 45 regular season games with the Jackals, but is perhaps most remembered for his goal in the fourth overtime in game one of the North Division Semifinals against the Trenton Devils. Aspenlind's tally, 126 minutes and 10 seconds into the action, ended the longest playoff game in ECHL history, giving the Jackals a 5-4 victory.

This season with Lake Erie, Aspenlind has one assist and 21 penalty minutes.

The Jackals face the Charlotte Checkers on Friday night at 7:00 p.m.
