Cincinnati Cyclones News Release
CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Cincinnati Cyclones, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Montreal Canadiens and Nashville Predators, announced this morning they have loaned forward Adam Henrich to the Springfield Falcons (AHL).
Henrich, 25, is in his sixth professional season, having spent last season with Wilkes Barre/Scranton (AHL) for 37 games where he registered three goals and eight assists for eleven points and 34 penalty minutes. He began the 2009-10 season with Springfield (AHL) and in the Falcons season opening win, he notched a goal and an assist versus Portland. He already has four games in the AHL this year with a goal and an assist and 13 penalty minutes. Adam appeared in eight games with Ontario and had five goals and four assists for nine points. He has appeared in two games with the Cyclones since being acquired from Ontario in a trade (for defenseman Jon Landry) on November 3, but does not have a point.
The six-foot-four, 225 pound native of Thornhill, ON, was originally drafted in the second round (number 60 overall) of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft by the Tampa Bay Lightning. In 109 career ECHL games, Henrich has recorded 50 goals and 57 assists for 107 points and 256 penalty minutes. He has also accumulated 31 multiple point games between Johnstown, Wheeling and Ontario. Adam also has 192 games of experience at the AHL level, picking up 31 goals, 51 assists and 82 points with 277 penalty minutes. He has nine multiple point games at the 'AAA' level.
Henrich is the seventh Cyclones player to earn an AHL promotion this season, after 17 players earned the nod to the AHL last year. In the three-plus seasons that Chuck Weber has been the coach of the Cyclones, 55 players have earned promotions to the AHL.
The Cyclones host the Florida Everblades in games on Friday (December 4) and Saturday (December 5). Both contests start at 7:30pm. Friday night is the annual 'Teddy Bear Toss; where fans are encouraged to bring a new stuffed (or gently loved animal) toy to the game and throw on the ice after the Cyclones first goal. Animals collected are given to the Shriners Burns Institute. That game will be carried on 1530 Homer - The Sports Animal with the pregame airing at 7pm. The contest will also be carried on the internet at: www.cycloneshockey.com.
Tickets for the 2009-10 Cincinnati Cyclones season are now on sale. The Cyclones Sales Department can be reached at 513-421-PUCK, extension 3. The Cyclones have selected Friday night games carried on 1530 Homer - The Sports Animal and all contests aired on their website at www.cycloneshockey.com. The Cyclones close out the weekend when Florida is in for 'Salute To The Reds' when the club wears Reds replica jerseys that will be auctioned off after the game and offers fans an opportunity to purchase John Morrell hot dogs for one dollar each. Proceeds from the jersey auction will benefit The Reds Community Fund.
