Isotopes to participate at Challenger Little League Clinic
May 1, 2009 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Albuquerque Isotopes News Release
Four Isotopes are taking time out of their schedules to attend a Challenger Little League Clinic tomorrow from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM across from McKinley Middle School. Hitting coach John Moses, outfielders John-Ford Griffin and Jason Repko and infielder Valentino Pascucci will all participate in the clinic, which goes over the fundamentals of baseball with developmentally disabled children.
At this annual event, players from the Challenger Little League will split up into small groups and get coached by the participating Isotopes. After passing on some of their baseball knowledge, the Isotopes will talk about their experiences in the game and be available for autographs.
Later on at the 7:05 PM game between the Round Rock Express and Albuquerque at Isotopes Park, there will be a Little League Parade for all of the different area teams. In that parade, the Challenger Little League will have two banners proudly representing them.
The Challenger Division of New Mexico was established in 1989 as a separate division of Little League Baseball to enable boys and girls with physical and mental disabilities, ages 5-18 or the completion of high school, to enjoy the game of baseball along with the millions of other children who participate in the sport worldwide.
Albuquerque's homestand may be short, but it's packed with great promotions including the first fireworks extravaganza of the season tomorrow in conjunction with Little League Night. Tickets for any Isotopes game may be purchased at the Isotopes Park Box Office, at Ticketmaster outlets, by phone at 1-800-745-3000, or on-line at www.albuquerquebaseball.com or www.ticketmaster.com.
