Oklahoma City Baseball Club News Release

HIGHLIGHTS: The Oklahoma City RedHawks dropped an 11-2 final to the New Orleans Zephyrs Friday night at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark. The Zephyrs scored six runs in the second inning to jump on RedHawks starter Jared Hyatt and added the rest of their offense over the next three innings.

Hyatt faced nine batters in the second inning as New Orleans knocked the cycle with a double by Michael Ryan, triple by Manny Mayorson, single by Alejandro De Aza, and home run by Gaby Sanchez. The Zephyrs added a run in the third and three more in the fourth on John Lindsey's second three-run home run of the series. New Orleans tacked on its final run in the fifth inning against Oklahoma City reliever Thomas Diamond.

The RedHawks plated both of their runs in the seventh inning. Greg Golson and Germand Duran hit back-to-back singles to start the inning. Golson scored on a Julio Borbon fielder's choice, and Borbon came home on a single by Joaquin Arias.

Hyatt (0-2) was saddled with the loss after allowing 10 earned runs on eight hits over four innings. Former RedHawk John Koronka earned the win with five shutout innings, walking three and striking out six. Sanchez went 3-5 with three runs batted in, Jai Miller had three hits in four at bats, and Chris Coghlan walked four times, scoring twice. Arias had three hits for the RedHawks, while Brandon Boggs and Golson had two hits each.

Game three of this four-game set is slated for Saturday night at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 pm.
