August 14, 2003 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Albuquerque Isotopes News Release
Girl Scouts who signed up for this Friday night's game between the Albuquerque Isotopes and Omaha Royals will get an extra treat: a campout.
Starting 45 minutes after the conclusion of Friday night's game, the Girl Scouts will start unloading their sleeping bags and pop up tents to sleep under the stars on the field of Isotopes Park. A movie will be shown as part of the evening's entertainment, with the Girl Scouts allowed to stay until 6:30 AM the next day.
The Scouts were able to sign up through the Girl Scouts of Chaparral Council, Inc. over the course of the season to be able to participate. Over 2,300 tickets were sold and 900 are expected to spend the night in the sold out event. Media is welcome to attend and interview fans about the experiences of spending the night under the stars at Isotopes Park.
