Albuquerque Isotopes News Release

By virtue of a pair of dominating performances, Albuquerque Isotopes Seth Etherton and John Lindsey have been named Pacific Coast League Pitcher and Player of the Week, respectively, for games beginning on May 24 through May 30.

Etherton only needed one start to garner the Pitcher of the Week honor, shutting out the Reno Aces through seven innings at Isotopes Park on May 27. The right-hander allowed just three hits while striking out 11, the most by an Isotopes pitcher this season, to claim his first victory of the season in an 8-0 ‘Topes rout.

Lindsey, meanwhile, continues to be the PCL's hottest hitter, racking up a .407 (11x27) batting average in seven games on the week while adding two doubles, five homers, and an astonishing 13 RBI. On May 29 in Memphis, Lindsey became the first Isotope to hit a grand slam this season and equaled a team-season-high by driving in six. This is the second time this year Lindsey has claimed PCL Player of the Week honors, having also won the award for the first week of the season April 8-18.

The Isotopes continue their eight-game tour of Tennessee with four games in Nashville before returning home this Saturday for a quick, four-game homestand that kicks off with post-game fireworks and includes an appearance by Myron Noodleman and the final 50-Cent Hot Dog Night of the year. Tickets for any Isotopes game may be purchased at the Isotopes Park Box Office, at Ticketmaster outlets, by phone at 1-800-745-3000, or on-line at www.albuquerquebaseball.com or www.ticketmaster.com.
