In game one of the series the Memphis Redbirds (28-23) pushed the Oklahoma City home losing streak to five games with a 5-4 win on Tuesday evening at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark.

The RedHawks took their only lead in the contest in the home half of third inning. Oklahoma City secured three walks and three singles; including a sacrifice fly to take a 3-1 lead. However Memphis responded immediately with two runs in innings four and five to nab the win.

Chris Davis blasted his fifth home run of the season, his third in four games, adding to his team leading 29th RBI.

Doug Mathis (L, 1-1) threw 96 pitches over six innings scattering eight hits, allowing four earned runs, three walks, and three strikeouts.

The Oklahoma City bullpen blanked the Redbirds through the final three innings. Zach Phillips pitched a quiet seventh inning. As a RedHawk, Phillips has not allowed a run over 9.1 innings of work. Alexi Ogando through two shutout innings, striking out three without allowing a hit.

Oklahoma City and Memphis will continue their four-game set Wednesday evening at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark. Omar Beltre (0-3,3.41) and Oneli Perez (0-1,4.40) are slated to pitch for the RedHawks and Redbirds respectively with a first pitch scheduled for 7:05 pm.
