
Aces Snap Skid, Claim 7-6 Victory over Sky Sox

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Doug Deeds led the Aces with two doubles and a triple, as Reno snapped its six-game losing streak with a 7-6 victory over the Colorado Springs Sky Sox Tuesday evening at Security Service Field.
Reno fell behind early, trailing 4-1 after three innings, but scored in the next four frames to take the lead for good. The Aces put up runs in the third through seventh innings, turning a three-run deficit into a 7-5 lead in the seventh. The Sky Sox would score in the bottom of the seventh, but Jason Urquidez and Blaine Boyer kept the Sky Sox at bay, preserving the victory for Reno.
Jordan Norberto (3-0) earned the win in relief of starter Bryan Augenstein, tossing 1.2 innings of scoreless baseball and stranding the bases loaded twice. After Jason Urquidez tossed two innings, Blaine Boyer threw a perfect ninth for his second save of the season.
Colorado Springs starter Alan Johnson (4-2) suffered the loss, giving up six of the Aces' seven runs.
Deeds led the charge for Reno, finishing with two doubles, a triple and three RBIs. Jeff Bailey, Pedro Ciriaco and Carlos Corporan chipped in two hits apiece for Reno, which outhit the Sky Sox 14-10.
The two teams continue the series Wednesday night in Colorado Springs. Reno turns to RHP Kevin Mulvey (0-4, 4.65 ERA), while the Sky Sox counter with LHP Josh Muecke (0-3, 7.90 ERA). First pitch is set for 6:05 p.m. PT from Security Service Field, and all the action can be heard live in Reno on Fox Sports Radio 1450 AM.
Reno returns home Saturday night for an eight-game homestand, with Saturday's 7:05 game kicking off the festivities.
