Isotopes Drop 5-2 Decision for Sixth-Straight Loss

Albuquerque, NM - The Isotopes were held to five hits, including 0-for-5 with runners in scoring position, while the Space Cowboys belted two dingers to propel them to a 5-2 victory over Albuquerque Thursday night at Rio Grande Credit Union Field at Isotopes Park.

Topes Scope: - With the loss, the Isotopes have dropped a season-high six-straight and nine of 10. The club hasn't lost six in-a-row since dropping eight-straight from Aug. 3-13, 2023 (season high).

-Overall, the Isotopes are 2-10 on the year-tied for the worst start to a season through 12 games in franchise history.

-Albuquerque has lost 12 of its last 14 meetings against the Space Cowboys, including eight-straight at home (last win at Isotopes park: June 6, 2023.

-The Isotopes did not commit an error on the night, just their fifth game of the season without a miscue and first since April 7 at Oklahoma City.

-Josh Rogers held the Space Cowboys scoreless in the first frame, the first time in four games the staff has held their opponent without a tally.

-Riley Pint walked in a run with the bases loaded in the sixth inning, the fourth bases-loaded walk by the Isotopes this year (last: Evan Justice, April 9 vs. Sugar Land).

-The Isotopes defense turned three a season-high three doubleplays, their most in a contest since Sept. 21, 2023, vs. Oklahoma City.

-Albuquerque tallied just one extra-base hit (homer) on the night, their third game in 2024 with just one.

-Additionally, the eight total bases tied for the second-fewest on the year (also: April 6 at Oklahoma City).

-Albuquerque was held to two runs or fewer for the second time in 2024 (also: April 5 at Oklahoma City, one run).

-The Isotopes offensive struck out 11 times, the club's ninth contest this season with double-digit punchouts. Their 134 strikeouts are third-most in Triple-A (most: Omaha, 139).

-Of the 11 batted balls registered at 100 MPH-plus, the Isotopes recorded three of them. Grant Lavigne's homer was the third-hardest hit ball of the night: 103.9 MPH.

-Grant Lavigne belted his first Triple-A homer in the sixth inning, his 28th at-bat with the Isotopes (407 ft.).

-Coco Montes recorded his team-leading fifth multi-hit contest of the year and second-straight. He has a hit in three-straight games (5x12).

-Jordan Beck's six-game hit streak came to an end after going 0-for-3 with a walk. However, he extended his on-base streak to 32 games (since Aug. 18, 2023, with Double-A Hartford). Additionally, he has reached base in all 11 games he's played in 2024.

-Aaron Schunk is 3-for-7 since starting the season 3-for-35 after a single tonight.

On Deck: The Isotopes and Space Cowboys meet for game four of the series tomorrow at 6:35 pm MT at Isotopes Park. Albuquerque is expected to send left-hander Ty Blach to the hill while Sugar Land is slated to start Rhett Kouba.
